Now that school is out and summer is here, it is time to think about…
Get ready for a summer road trip!
Our next sermon series will take us on a journey through America’s National Parks. Sunscreen, water bottles, binoculars, oh my! Pack your bags and grab your NPS passport for our summer adventure! Join us each Sunday as we visit a different National Park taking us across the country. We’ll be heading to Acadia National Park in Maine, Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota, Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota, Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska, and Olympic National Park in Washington. Don’t forget to pick up your passport so that you can get it stamped at each location! See you there!
This sermon series was inspired by the book America’s Holy Ground: 61 Faithful Reflections on our National Parks by Brad Lyons and Bruce Barkhauer.
Summer Bible Study
Join Pastor Rebecca for a summer Bible Study, reflection and conversation on Wednesdays beginning on July 16th at 11:00am in the Scott Building. Our time together will be focused on the scripture passage for the upcoming Sunday based on our National Park Sermon Series. We will read the passage, engage in the spiritual practice of lectio divina (sacred reading), and reflect in conversation.
What is Lectivo Divinia?
Lectio divina is a spiritual practice and an approach to reading the Bible that developed in the 12th century. It focuses on three movements: read, reflect, and respond. These three movements invite the readers to approach scripture passages with a posture of depth, curiosity, and openness to the presence of God’s transformative Word and how it is speaking to us directly today.
Please join us weekly as you are able for these two summer experiences. Bible study at 11:00am on Wednesdays and worship at 9:00am by zoom and 10:30am in the Meeting House.
