Tredyffrin Township’s Baptist Church in the Great Valley (BCGV), founded in 1711 by Welsh immigrants,…
With the start of the 2023-2024 school year just weeks away, we are asking members of our congregation to help us provide the most-needed school supplies for middle and high school-age students of Race Track families. Thanks to everyone who has already brought in supplies. For everyone still shopping, you can drop the supplies or gift cards off at the Scott Building at any time or bring them to church any Sunday.
The list below has been provided by Rev. Rick Bunker, who is the chaplain at the Philadelphia Park Race Track.
- Scissors
- Composition & Spiral Notebooks
- Markers & Crayons
- Pens & Pencils
- Calculators
- Pencil Cases
- Loose-leaf Paper/Notebook Paper
- Folders
- Index Cards
- Erasers
- Binders
- Glue Sticks
- Rulers
- Last year we also included a $25 gift card to Staples, Walmart, or Target in each backpack. Rev. Bunker shared that the gift cards given last year were a huge help. Parents could take their children to Staples, Walmart or Target and get exactly what their students needed that might not have been included in the backpack.
On August 20 following worship, we will have a light lunch and then sort the supplies and pack the backpacks with enough supplies for each student to help get them off to a good start next school year.
Please contact Lynda Mansfield with any questions about specific items being requested.
Supplies purchased now can be brought to the church office for storage until we begin packing in August.
Support for the Race Track families has become one of the Mission Board’s primary projects during the year, and we’re counting on you to help us make this project a success once again!
