On Saturday, June 6, Rev. Dr. Quintin L. Robertson was installed as the new Regional Executive Minister of the Philadelphia Baptist Association — and we were there to celebrate!

Along with several PBA pastors, including Rev. Marcia Bailey, who delivered the invocation, Pastor Rebecca participated in the service by offering the offertory prayer. The beautiful vaulted sanctuary of Monumental Baptist Church in Philadelphia was filled with joyful music from the church’s choir as approximately fifty clergy gathered around Dr. Robertson, symbolically laying hands on him in a moving act of blessing and support.

The members of Monumental Baptist Church were especially proud to see their Associate Minister called to this important role. They were gracious hosts, welcoming guests both during the service and at the reception that followed.

We will have the opportunity to welcome “Dr. Q” to The Baptist Church in the Great Valley very soon. He will join us for in-person worship on Father’s Day, June 21. Those who have met him at the PBA Annual Meeting and at his installation have been impressed by his warmth, humility, and commitment to serving the churches of our region. We are confident you will enjoy meeting him as well.

Dr. Robertson will also be the guest preacher for Pastor Rebecca’s Installation Service on September 13, 2026. Please mark your calendars now and plan to join us for these special occasions in the life of our church.

Rev. Dr. Quintin L. Robertson’s Biography

The Rev. Dr. Quintin L. Robertson — known affectionately as Pastor Q to his congregants and Dr. Q to his students — has devoted more than three decades to ministry, theological education, and leadership in both the church and the academy. His service has spanned the metropolitan areas of Atlanta and Philadelphia, where he has impacted countless lives through preaching, teaching, mentoring, and pastoral care.

Over the past twelve years, Dr. Robertson has intentionally focused on interim pastoral ministry, guiding four congregations within the Philadelphia Baptist Association: Grace Baptist Church of Germantown, the historic First Baptist Church of Philadelphia, First Baptist Church of Levittown-Fairless Hills, and Central Baptist Church of Wayne. He has also served as a supply minister for Holmesburg Baptist Church, Reformation Lutheran Church, and Woodcrest United Church of Christ in Philadelphia.

In addition to his congregational ministry, Dr. Robertson serves as an Associate Minister at Monumental Baptist Church and is a member of the faculty at United Lutheran Seminary, where he directs the Urban Theological Institute and Black Church Studies program. His ministry reflects a deep commitment to theological education, leadership development, and the strengthening of faith communities.

On January 2, 2026, Dr. Robertson began serving as Regional Executive Minister of the Philadelphia Baptist Association (PBA), one of the oldest continuing associations of Baptist congregations in the United States. In this role, he seeks to strengthen relationships among member churches, cultivate effective leadership, and engage the next generation in the life and mission of the church.

Dr. Robertson’s ministry is both ecumenical and intercultural. He has served congregations whose members represent Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America, and he has preached and lectured across denominational lines throughout North America and Asia. A respected educator and speaker, he has taught and presented at more than thirty colleges, universities, and seminaries, leading workshops and courses in leadership, preaching, church history, and theology. During his years in Atlanta, he led a weekly Bible study for students from Morehouse College, Spelman College, and Clark Atlanta University.

A native of Newark, New Jersey, Dr. Robertson was raised at Greater Harvest Baptist Church. He earned the Doctor of Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees from the Interdenominational Theological Center, an MBA from Clark Atlanta University, and a BBA from Howard University. Between his junior and senior years at Howard, he participated in Harvard Business School’s prestigious Summer Venture in Management Program. He has been inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers at Morehouse College and is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Throughout his ministry, Dr. Robertson has been a trusted mentor, creating spaces where students, clergy, and laypersons can seek guidance, encouragement, and support. His life and ministry reflect his conviction that “every day is a new beginning” and that God’s grace is always sufficient for the journey.

When he is not preaching, teaching, or mentoring, Dr. Robertson enjoys exploring new restaurants, sharing culinary discoveries on social media, and pursuing his passion for history. A dedicated history enthusiast, he especially enjoys biographies, documentaries, historical fiction, and films that bring the past to life.
